Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose Made to Measure?

Not only will your dress be a unique one, but it will fit you perfectly. 'Off the peg' clothing may be cheaper but is not individual and doesn't fit you like a made to measure garment does.

What is the first step?

Contact me for a no obligation consultation. Bring with you any pictures and ideas that you have. We can talk through styles that suit you, fabrics and costs.

How much do you charge?

It is very dependant on the style, fabric and detailing that you choose. At the time of your consultation we can talk about your budget and requirements.

How long will it take to make my outfit?

It is important that you contact me well in advance to ensure availability. For weddings you should give at least 4 months warning. Last minute requests can be fitted in depending on availability of time.

What happens if I decide to commission you?

We will agree on fitting dates and final details for your dress or outfit. The number of fittings will be determined by your order. A 40% deposit is required when placing the order.

Where are fittings and consultations held?

Fittings and consultations are held in my studio in Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire by appointment only. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to arrange a no obligation consultation.

Why are your bridesmaids dresses more expensive than bridal or online shops?

I am often asked to do alterations on bridesmaids and other special occasion dresses bought from bridal and online shops at 'bargain prices'. Before making the decision to choose the "cheaper" option, please read my Bridesmaids Dresses page to learn about the hidden costs. Many of my clients wished they knew about the pitfalls before making that purchase.
